Motichur Laddu Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Oil for deep frying
Lets make Motichur Laddu
- In a large bowl, combine the besan, sugar, water, saffron powder, cardamom powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
- To check if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of batter into the oil. If it floats to the top and sizzles, the oil is ready.
- Using a piping bag or a spoon, carefully drop small balls of batter into the hot oil. Fry the boondi (small pearls) until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the boondi.
- Add 1 tablespoon of ghee. Add the boondi and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the sugar and water to the pan and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Cook the mixture until it thickens and forms a syrup.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- With wet hands, shape the mixture into small balls.
- Garnish the laddus with chopped nuts and serve.
