Meethe Chawal Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds)
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Let’s Meethe Chawal

  1. Soak rice for 20-30 Minutes.
  2. Drain the rice and add it to a pot with the water.
  3. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
  4. While the rice is cooking, heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the sugar and cook, stirring occasionally, until it melts and turns golden brown.
  6. Add the cardamom powder, saffron strands, nuts, and raisins and cook for a few more minutes.
  7. Add the cooked rice to the sugar mixture and mix well.
  8. Serve hot or chilled.
