  5. Add the sugar and nuts and cook for a few more minutes.
  6. Also remove from the heat and stir in the cardamom powder.
  7. Serve hot or chilled.

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice and lentils and drain them well.
  2. Heat the ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. According to your taste add cumin seeds.
  4. Add the onions and cook until softened.
  5. Add the ginger and garlic and cook for a minute.
  6. Also Add the tomatoes according to your needs and cook it.
  7. Add the turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
  8. Add the rice and lentils and mix well.
  9. Add enough water to cover the rice and lentils by about an inch.
  10. Once it starts boiling then reduce the heat and cook it for 20-25 mins.
  11. Serve hot with ghee, raita, or salad.
